Federal Election 2025 Update/Week 4
With the conclusion of week four of the 2025 federal election, we only have one full week left of the campaign. As such, party leaders have continued to present their plans for Canada in efforts to convince Canadians that they are best positioned to form a government, particularly in the French and English debates, held on April 16th and 17th, respectively.

Ontario Streamlining Approval Processes for Infrastructure, Mining, and Resource Projects
Today Premier Ford and Minister of Energy and Mines Stephen Lecce announced the second successive piece of legislation aimed at “Protecting Ontario” with the introduction of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025, which aims to cut red tape and reduce duplicative processes for major infrastructure, mining and resource development projects.

Ontario Makes Move to Strengthen Free Trade in Canada
Today, Premier Doug Ford, Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston, New Brunswick Premier Susan Holt, and Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Vic Fedeli announced new measures being introduced to unlock free trade and labour mobility within Canada. Interprovincial trade barriers are estimated to cost Canadians $200 billion annually.
