Green Steel Transformation

The Brief:

Sussex has proudly been supporting a Canadian steel making client with their Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) project for many years; working in partnership to ensure the transformative nature of the project was understood within the federal and provincial governments.

The Results:

Through our targeted advocacy efforts, our client was able to secure substantial financial backing from the Canadian government and critical infrastructure support from the Ontario Government.

Following the funding commitment in late 2021, Sussex had the privilege of assisting our client throughout the permitting and construction phases of the EAF facility, navigating regulatory challenges and ensuring progress remained on track.

One of the standout achievements of this collaboration was the enhancement of our client’s sustainability profile. Together, we were able to demonstrate the importance of their transition into a sustainable green steel producer as a competitive advantage for Ontario and Canada.
