Sarah Diebel – Vice President, Energy
Recognized for her extensive experience in advocacy, energy management, policy, and law, Sarah Diebel brings over 15 years of experience in commercial, regulatory, and infrastructure matters within Canadian electricity and gas markets. Having worked as both in-house counsel and private practice, including at the Ontario Electricity System Operator (IESO), Sarah has advised clients on complex energy projects including playing a critical role in market renewal initiatives and clean energy financing. She has also led significant compliance efforts, contributing to regulatory frameworks and the advancement of energy policies. Sarah’s legal background is complemented by her leadership in corporate governance and international trade law. Sarah is also an exceptional advocate and community leader, having served as the Chair of the Board of the Daily Bread Food Bank.
Sartaj Javed – Associate, Energy
Sartaj is a former public servant and management consultant with expertise in policy advisory and regulatory support. With experience in both the public and private sectors, Sartaj has advised on clean energy tax credits, financing programs, and flagship energy projects. His background includes roles at Natural Resources Canada, Infrastructure Canada, and the Canada Energy Regulator, as well as experience at Algonquin Power and KPMG LLP, where he supported clients across Canada, the U.S., and the Middle East.
Serge Imbrogno – Senior Counsel
Serge is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the Ontario Public Service, specializing in environment, energy, financial and economic policy. He has held senior positions in the Government of Ontario, including Deputy Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, Deputy Minister of Energy, and Assistant Deputy Minister at the Ontario Financing Authority. Serge has been instrumental in major initiatives such as the restructuring of Ontario Hydro, the Hydro One IPO, and multibillion-dollar investments in nuclear refurbishments at Darlington and Bruce. He has also played a key role in advancing clean energy development, strengthening Indigenous relations, and enhancing infrastructure for remote First Nations communities. As Deputy Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, Serge led the development of Ontario’s Environment Plan, the implementation of the Emissions Performance Standard, and corresponding Emission Performance Program.
