Ontario Budget 2021 Analysis

Today, Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy tabled his first, and the Ford government’s third, annual Budget. The Minister, who has been pulling double duty at Finance and Treasury Board since assuming the Finance role from his predecessor, has been in the Finance role for only about three months. However, having been an integral player in the budget making process since the PC government took office in 2018, Minister Bethlenfalvy has managed to find his footing fairly quickly and relatively easily.

As is the tradition at Sussex, we will spend some time reporting the budget’s contents and will provide you with our perspective on what it means, the politics involved, and what it will mean going forward.
