Vanessa is an Associate with our Federal Government Relations Practice. She has experience guiding clients through engagement with the federal government, crafting government-facing communications, and advocating on behalf of client’s objectives. 

Prior to joining Sussex, Vanessa worked in the government relations sector, where she supported clients through developing strategies, providing analysis on government actions, and monitoring pertinent legislation and committee studies through the parliamentary process. She has previous experience using sector specific knowledge to benefit clients in labour, telecommunications, energy, natural resources health, and financial institutions. Vanessa has also worked in the United States House of Representatives, where she provided briefing notes assisted with communications, and attended legislative and stakeholder briefings for the Congressman.  

Vanessa holds a Master of Political Management from Carleton University, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Ottawa.  

Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling, trying out new recipes.
