In his role as Associate in the Energy Practice, Sartaj provides policy analysis and regulatory support for clients in the energy, renewable power and infrastructure space.
With experience in both the public and private sectors, he brings a comprehensive understanding of the energy landscape.
Sartaj has previously worked in the federal public service at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), Infrastructure Canada and the Canada Energy Regulator. His experience at NRCan include supporting the introduction of various clean energy tax credits and supporting Canadian diplomatic staff at various multilateral climate fora such as COP26 and the G20 Summit in Rome. At Infrastructure Canada, he helped advise on the development and introduction of various clean energy financing programs such as the Canada Infrastructure Bank, the Canada Growth Fund and various flagship clean energy projects. Sartaj also worked in the private sector at Algonquin Power on their wind power development team and at KPMG LLP in their Global Infrastructure Advisory Practice supporting clients across Canada, the United States and the Middle East.
Sartaj holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences from Western University and a Master of Arts in Sustainable Energy Policy from Carleton University.
In his free time, Sartaj is an avid reader of history and economics and enjoys exploring antique stores.
