ABOUT
Lavika is a keen and active learner, with a growing background in strategy development, healthcare advocacy, and digital engagement. Through internships and volunteer roles with not-for-profit organizations, she has valuable experience in campaign planning, sales management, and grassroots mobilization. Her passion lies in the intersection of healthcare, policy, and government relations.
Lavika has worked to advocate for underdeveloped, third world countries by organizing events, fundraisers and social media campaigns to raise awareness and provide essential resources to support and improve their development. Being deeply involved in her community, she is committed to bridging the gaps in healthcare by collaborating with different organizations to ensure for a more equitable access to medical services in Canada and around the world.
Prior to joining Sussex, Lavika worked as an intern at Canada Health Infoway where she gained her first corporate office experience leading to her interest in healthcare and the policy-making process behind the scenes of the industry. She has also worked in various retail positions in major lifestyle and health & wellness related companies, often taking a team leader role to oversee daily operations and provide support in creating an efficient environment to thrive in.
She is currently pursuing a Hons. Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Ottawa with an interest in government relations and health policy.
Outside of work, Lavika enjoys playing basketball, training at the gym and attending varying sports watch-parties with her dad
