As the Director of Energy Government Relations, Jordan specializes in counseling clients on navigating the dynamic energy sector. With a deep understanding of complex regulatory markets, he assists clients in developing strategies to anticipate and influence government policies while successfully achieving their corporate objectives.
Jordan has specialized in helping clients understand and navigate energy procurement processes, develop strategies for distributed energy resource adoption, and improve the regulatory environment for electric vehicle infrastructure.
During his tenure at Sussex, Jordan has focused on providing valuable insights to clients regarding energy procurement processes, strategies for adopting distributed energy resources, and enhancing the regulatory landscape for electric vehicle infrastructure.
Prior to Sussex, Jordan dedicated over a decade to the Independent Electricity System Operator in Ontario, where he held senior positions in government affairs, stakeholder and community engagement, and Indigenous relations. He also spent the early part of his career working at Queen’s Park, advising three Ministers of Energy and establishing a solid foundation in grassroots politics through involvement in federal and provincial election campaigns.
Jordan holds a BA Honours in Political Science with a Minor in Environmental Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Outside of work, Jordan prioritizes his family, actively engaging with his partner and two young daughters. Together, they enjoy fostering exploration, participation in new activities and sports, and collaborative Lego building adventures.
