ABOUT
Jessica brings 16 years of strategic thinking, political insights and government relations and communications expertise to Sussex. She has extensive experience both in the public and private sectors in strategy development, media relations, crisis communications, government relations and policy development.
Prior to joining Sussex, Jessica most recently served as Head of Strategic Communications for Ontario’s Minister of Finance, where she played a leading role in the development of the government’s annual Budget and Fall Economic Statement.
Jessica’s provincial and federal government experience also includes serving as Chief of Staff to Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care, Director of Strategic Communications for the Premier of Ontario and Director of Communications for Ontario’s Minister of Government and Consumer Services and Press Secretary and Issues Manager for the Minister of State of Democratic Reform and Minister of State for Transport on Parliament Hill.
Jessica also brings many years of consulting experience to Sussex where she managed a broad range of clients in various industries including the skilled trades and energy.
Through her previous experience in the private and public sectors, consulting and working for an industry association, Jessica has developed exceptional knowledge in government relations, policy development, communications, and strategic planning.
Jessica holds a Bachelor’s degree in media studies from the University of Guelph and a Diploma in public relations from Humber College.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her dog Nala, hitting the gym, or attending a Pilates class. She has also earned the title of the "fun and cool" aunt, to her three nephews and two nieces.
