As the Vice President and Ontario Government Relations Practice Lead, Giancarlo possesses extensive knowledge of strategic communications, regulatory affairs, the government decision-making process and has been a part of several campaigns. He offers clients over a decade of government relations, public affairs, and communications experience that spans both the public and private sectors.

Prior to Sussex, Giancarlo spent over a decade providing government relations support to a broad range of clients, especially in the environmental and natural resource sector. This ranges from the construction of a new gold mine, to extending the life of several waste and recycling facilities to co-chairing a global renewable fuels association.

Before Giancarlo became a consultant, he worked at Toronto City Hall as an advisor to a City of Toronto Councillor and then at Queens Park as a Stakeholder Relations and Communications Advisor to the Attorney General of Ontario. In government, Giancarlo dealt with various municipal matters, managed the relationships with non-profit stakeholders, the regulation of professional organizations and helped to navigate sensitive high-profile issues. Prior to working in government, Giancarlo gained experience and knowledge of the importance of customer service while working in the retail banking sector.

Giancarlo attended the University of Toronto after graduating from St. Michael’s College School.  

Outside of work, when Giancarlo isn’t travelling or hanging out with his dogs, you can find him on the golf course or tinkering and driving one of his cars.
