Darya is an Associate with Sussex’s Strategic Communications practice. She specializes in disseminating highly technical subject matter for different types of audiences. Her expertise and interests span across the areas of corporate communications, issues management, media relations and analytics.

With both in-house and agency communications experience, she is skilled in marketing communications, effective writing and end-to-end project management of strategic communications initiatives. She has honed both her internal and external communications skills by working on a wide breadth of highly regulated and complex issues within the financial services, healthcare and non-profit sectors.

Prior to Sussex, Darya worked for Liberty Mutual Canada and the French Healthcare Network of Central Southwestern Ontario (RFSSO), serving as a Communications Officer for their Franco-Santé initiative. During her tenure at Liberty Mutual Canada, Darya planned and produced the organization’s marketing and corporate communications collateral. She consistently worked with different subject matter experts, internal stakeholders and senior leaders to help strategize and execute financial and corporate communications.

Darya is bilingual in English and French, and she holds both an Honours BA in English from York University and a Master of Media in Journalism and Communication from Western University.  

Outside of work, Darya is an avid reader and enjoys hiking, yoga, traveling, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers!
