ABOUT
Amanda is passionate about advancing public policy solutions backed by deep analysis and clear communication. As a Senior Associate for the Energy Practice, she provides strategic advice to a diverse group of clients in areas including economic development, trade and investment, electrification, housing and development and labour relations. She also holds experience working on resource development projects in the energy and mining sectors that support Indigenous reconciliation.
Since joining Sussex, Amanda has played a key role in shaping policy instruments involving planning and development, has guided clients through the government RFB process with success, and has worked to introduce the government to initiatives that support electrification and Ontario’s pathway to net-zero.
Prior to Sussex, Amanda worked at the Business Council of Canada, a national business association representing entrepreneurs and business leaders from every region and sector of the economy advancing policy objectives through liaising with stakeholders and government, developing strategic advice, and managing major projects. Amanda has also worked for public opinion expert Conrad Winn and has held various internships, including with Sport Tourism Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society. Through her previous work experiences Amanda has fostered relationships with stakeholders in Ottawa, London, and DC.
Amanda holds several degrees and certificates, including a Bachelor of Arts (honours) in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Political Management from Carleton University, and a certificate in Digital Marketing Strategy from the Canadian Marketing Association. She also spent a semester in York, England focused on conducting polling and research on Brexit, election outcomes, and the EU’s data-driven economy.
Outside of work, Amanda is an avid biker, concert seeker, golfer, and sports fan. She has the goal of visiting all 30 NFL stadiums within her lifetime.
