Naomi has expertise in research and policy which she uses to support the Sussex Federal and Ontario government relations teams and their clients. Naomi uses her well established, evidence-based research skills to synthesize complex information on any topic to inform policy development and policy alternatives. She has on the ground experience in the government policy making process and insight into the government mindset.

Prior to joining Sussex, Naomi held various policy advisor roles with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the OPS Diversity Office of the Ontario Government. She also worked as a science and technology policy analyst with Environment and Climate Change Canada. In addition, Naomi worked at an Ottawa think-tank providing evidence to inform policy decisions. Her research and analysis products have been used to inform government strategy and the decision-making process.

Before entering the policy sphere, Naomi worked in a research laboratory on immunology and cancer. She contributed to immunology articles published in peer reviewed journals.

Naomi holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Toronto and a Master of Biomedicine, Bioscience and Society from London School of Economics. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Genetics from McMaster University.

Analysis: Second Report on Improving Healthcare and Ending Hallway Medicine: “A Healthy Ontario: Building a Sustainable Health Care System”.
The second report from the Premier’s Council to the Premier and Ministers of Health and Long-Term Care was released on June 25, 2019. The report provides advice on how to achieve what it describes as a new vision for health care system centred on the patient that is modern, sustainable and integrated.
