Within her role as a Senior Associate, Kim Wright’s primary focus is municipal affairs.
With her extensive background in both the private and public sector, Kim brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about the processes and practices of municipal governments, related agencies and authorities, and school boards.
While the majority of her work has been focused in the City of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area (GTHA), she tracks key issues and votes across the country, and provides strategic counsel to our clients. Kim has built and executed successful public affairs engagements on a wide range of municipal issues including infrastructure, transportation, budget/taxation, labour relations, public health, waste management, and licensing. She has successfully managed various aspects of development files, changes to a variety of municipal by-laws and policies, and overseen procurement responses and processes.
In keeping with the Sussex’s intergovernmental approach to government relations, Kim brings with her almost 25 years of political experience at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels. This includes several years at Queen’s Park with the NDP Caucus providing political and legislative counsel as well as logistical support for the Leader. Later, she served as Executive Assistant to two Toronto District School Board Trustees.
Her professional career outside of politics included several years with a Bay Street financial services firm where she dealt with operations and administration.
